Last Week of JUNE by Alana
What a weekend! Seven shows later, It's hard to believe, but we only have one week left of JUNE, running this Tuesday through Friday at The Southern Theater. That's four more opportunities to see this "powerful, moving show" before it disappears into the void where shows go to rest!
Looking for some more reasons to see the show? Check out what the critics have been saying!
"[June] is a richly textured look at another time that allows us to see how far we’ve come, and marvel at how we ever got here. It also shows us the resilience of the human spirit, and the human heart, in the face of things that even now seem reluctant to change. Pull up a stool at the bar. We’re all lesbians tonight."
- Matthew A. Everett, Single White Fringe Geek
“It's a powerful, moving show. [...] There's so many little moments of connection all throughout the piece that were just beguiling.”
– John Townsend, Fresh Fruit
BONUS: Listen to the full recording of performers Emily Dussault and Kathryn Fumietalking about the themes and creation process for JUNE on KFAI's Fresh Fruit with Dixie Treichel and John Townsend (Feb 18, 2016) [starts around 19:25]
“It feels brave for Savage Umbrella to take such an unflinching look at the arousal and desire of female bodies without objectification.”
– Sheila Regan, City Pages
JUNE only runs through Friday, February 26th, so be sure to get your tickets now!
