Seriously, folks. What a day. We'll admit... it was a bit crazy at times (and not without some technical hiccups), but it was also so exciting, inspiring, and wildly successful. Overall, $20,120,336 was donated by 52,335 donors benefiting 5,756 nonprofits and schools across Minnesota (breaking last year's records!). WHOA! Here's how things went under the umbrella: 56 LOVERS OF NEW WORKWow! 56 awesome donors supported Savage Umbrella, SPACE, and adventurous new work throughout the big day of giving. So, so many other folks gave their support through retweets, shares, and hugs. Whatever you did to make it possible, whether it was dollars, good vibes, or kind words... thank you. You make new work possible. + $500 MATCHING GIFTThanks to a last minute lover of new work, we were able to have a matching gift for the day! Unfortunately, we weren't able to monitor the match while the GiveMN.org website was down, but that's okay because WE MADE IT! (In fact, I think we were only a few dollars away when the website first crashed at 8:33am!) + $100 SPECIAL BONUSOur incredible fiscal sponsor Springboard for the Arts added $100 every hour to a randomly selected donation to any of their Incubator projects. It's like an Incubator only golden ticket! And we snagged one in the early morning hours thanks to John and Michele Horton! <3 <3 <3 =$2,460 TO CELEBRATE 10 YEARSThank you for joining us under the umbrella! AND WE DID (1,018 to be exact)! Check out our Facebook to relive the excitement, see all our #MannequinChallenge sneak peek videos, and stay up-to-date on Savage Umbrella happenings. YOU CAN GIVE TO THE MAX ANY DAY!Okay, so we just wrapped up an incredible day of giving all around the state... now what?
Well, we want to remind you that you can give to the max and support local arts organizations and nonprofits any day. Here are a few ways you can support this thriving arts community all year long: * Check out all the exciting productions SU has planned for our tenth anniversary season: THE AWAKENING March 2017, EX-GAYS in September 2017, THE RAVAGERS in November 2017 * See new work happening at SPACE (like Underdog's BALTIMORE IS BURNING), at The Southern Theater (like lots of the shows happening at ARTshare), and all over town... * Join us for the public presentations of Night of New Works in April 2017 * Lend your voice to the new play making process at the workshop of VELVET SWING in June 2017 * Rent SPACE for your rehearsals, workshops, and intimate/DIY-style shows! * Mark your calendars for SU's TENTH BIRTHDAY PARTY in July 2017! * Bring your friends, family, and lovers to see new work and have awesome conversations. It's important... and it's even more important now. You can also visit https://givemn.org/fundraiser/SavageUmbrella any day of the year to support SPACE and Savage Umbrella. Together is better... and we're better together with you. Comments are closed.
