Red Bird Theatre​

Red Bird Theatre has chosen Sam Shepard's BURIED CHILD as their inaugural ARTshare performance and we are so excited to see what this group does with the classic. This show is filled with super talented performers examining the violent dysfunction of a Midwestern family with a dark secret. Get your tickets or risk being left in the dark!

Ballad of the Pale Fisherman
Transatlantic Love Affair

What happens when a fisherman falls in love with a woman who happens to be a seal? You'll have to see it to find out! Transatlantic Love Affair's Fringe-favorite will be resurfacing and we certainly don't want to be left high and dry. Grab your ticket and find out if it warrants your seal of approval!

The Beginning of Things
Dance & Other Behaviors

It wouldn't be a month at the Southern Theater without there being dance! Dance & Other Behaviors presents ​​THE BEGINNING OF THINGS. D&OB describes it as 'dynamic physicality with experimental storytelling to create a collection of visually arresting narratives'. It will also include a solo work inspired by Kate Chopin's THE AWAKENING. As fellow Chopi-holics, color us intrigued!

Republic Gives Back:
Benefit for the Southern Theater​

Seeing theatre can be fun and enlightening, but it's best when you get to talk about it with your friends. So join the Republic in Seven Corners on June 16th to chat it up with other ARTshare members about what you've seen this month. The Southern will be getting 15% of the profits, so you'll also be doing something extra helpful with your beer money. It goes all day, but a number of the SU crew will be there around 7pm to celebrate. Be sure to stop by and say 'Hey, I like your blog!'... or something

QUEENS
Sandbox Theatre

BONUS FEATURE! Sandbox Theatre's latest creation is not part of ARTshare, but we love new work so much we couldn't leave it off. "QUEENS is the story of an aging African-American boxer preparing for his final fight. Just one generation from slavery, he grew up fighting for his place in the world of Jim Crow America. For him, it’s not about the belt or the title, [but] a chance to say he was here, that his life mattered." QUEENS is heading into its final weekend, so make sure you don't miss it.
