Savage Umbrella's 2013-2014 Season Art

This year, Savage Umbrella decided to do something different for our season art. In the past, we've used show photos and one-off drawings and pieces of art, but we wanted an opportunity now to showcase some of the wonderful artists we know, and to have a cohesive look to the season. Plus, we love finding new ways for you to vote and engage with the work of Savage Umbrella, and who doesn't want to be able to say they helped make that look happen?

So we asked three artists we know and love - Ashley Flinn, Kit Leffler, and company member Carl Atiya Swanson - to design art for our four public moments in the season - Leaves, Rapture, These Are The Men and June. Then, at our small bites BIG IDEAS fundraiser, your donated dollars made the choice...

...and you chose the work of Ashley Flinn! Ashley runs Two Crow Press, a letterpress and graphic design studio in Manhattan, Kansas. Look for these elegant drawings to be incorporated into the season art, postcards and promotional materials for all the shows this season - and check out (and buy) a sweet Samuel Beckett print and more! Thanks to Ashley for her work and art, and congrats to the lucky small bites BIG IDEAS attendees who took home the art at the live auction - now you have even more reason to come to the next fundraiser.
